Everything You Need to Celebrate Pi Day on 3/14 from your friends at mental_floss!

In case you haven’t noticed, the mental_floss store is right in the heart of a pretty awesome (infinitely awesome, even) two-week Pi Day celebration, leading up to the special occasion on 3.14.

Each day from 3/1 to 3/14, we’re featuring a different pi product of the day along with a “slice of pi”—a little tidbit about our favorite mathematical constant. Tidbits such as:

+ The first million decimal places of pi consist of 99,959 zeros, 99,758 1s, 100,026 2s, 100,229 3s, 100,230 4s, 100,359 5s, 99,548 6s, 99,800 7s, 99,985 8s, and 100,106 9s. This is important to remember.

+ Hundreds of equations include pi, including those that explain the double helix in DNA and the way water ripples when hit with a rain drop.

+ In one episode of Star Trek, Spock fools a computer by asking it what the last digit of pi is.

+ And: What does the wife of Pi have to say about him? He's irrational and he goes on and on.

IT’S PI ART!

We kicked it all off with a fabulous NEW and FLOSS-EXCLUSIVE print of an original work by our friend Kate Gabrielle whose PunsIntended art prints have been a hit with Flossy folks. We’re so grateful that Kate agreed to create this piece just for us!

And there is much more pi goodness available in the store—bow ties, pizza pi cutters, pi-ball glasses, jewelry and more!
