The Mads are calling! It’s been nearly 20 years since Mystery Science Theater 3000 aired its last original episode, but that doesn’t mean that the beloved series’ creators and stars have ever stopped riffing on awesomely bad (and sometimes not-so-bad) movies. Between Cinematic Titanic and RiffTrax, MST3K’s key players—including creator/host Joel Hodgson and writer-turned-host Mike Nelson—have continued poking fun at both obscure movies and bona fide blockbusters with their ongoing series of live events, DVDs, television series, and streaming downloads. Now, on the heels of Hodgson’s confirmation that he’s about to give the original series a reboot, all of MST3K’s main principals will be getting together for a one-night only MST3K Reunion Show.

Ironically, the official word came down on April 1, though the RiffTrax folks promised fans (in all caps, no less) that “THIS IS NOT A JOKE” on their Facebook page: “The principal cast members of MST3K are going to be on stage for our LIVE Reunion Show on June 28.”

In conjunction with Fathom Events, the reunion show will be simulcast in hundreds of theaters nationwide. The special event is in celebration of RiffTrax’s tenth anniversary, and has already confirmed Hodgson, Trace Beaulieu, Frank Conniff, Mary Jo Pehl, Bridget Nelson, and (reboot host) Jonah Ray as guests—in addition to RiffTrax regulars Nelson, Kevin Murphy, and Bill Corbett.

Tickets for the Reunion Show won’t go on sale until April 15, though RiffTrax’s Kickstarter backers will get first (and early) dibs.
