In this simple video, we see Fred Rogers singing the iconic “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” theme song from Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood over a span of 33 years. It’s touching to see his consistency and gentleness over so many decades. The show ended its run on August 31, 2001. Enjoy:

I remember going to Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood in Pennsylvania when I was a kid. The Trolley ride was awesome!

We need Mr. Rogers now more than ever. It’s too bad he’s gone and too bad there is no one like him now.

The man had the biggest heart, he’s sharing his kindness and love with people in the afterlife now.

Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood was one of my very favorite shows. As a child from a single parent (mother) home, he was a good male influence and I always learned something new and interesting. Brings back good memories. Sad he’s not here to influence continuing generations.

That video put a smile on my face and tears in my eyes. I love Mr. Roger so much. He was an amazing human being. I wish the children today had someone like him.

Mr. Rogers (and his friend Mr. Dressup) had a quietness, a calm you don’t find in the hurly-burly of tv these days, esp in programs for young people. You watch this and realize what is missed.

September 2001 was the first month without Mr. Rogers? It showed.

This brought a tear to my eye. I didn’t even realize how much that brings back. Nowadays, I think many people are more cynical and tend to view that sort of quiet and gentleness Mr. Rogers displayed as being corny or weird, but as a child it was incredibly soothing.

Mr. Rogers was the kind of hero you don’t appreciate when you’re young but you miss when you’re old.
I think, if I could have a conversation with anyone, I might actually choose Mr. Rogers.

I’m going to have to find some episodes on DVD to show my children. Just because he’s not on the air anymore doesn’t mean kids have to be deprived of Mr. Rogers.

There is nothing that will bring a tear to my eye faster than a Mr. Rogers video. Is there anyone who doesn’t love him?
