Where Knowledge Junkies Get Their Fix

2 Bookshelves you probably don’t need to know about (but I’ll talk about them anyway)

After reading Chris Higgins’ terrific bit this morning on organizing your library (just scroll down a few posts), I realized that I’d been meaning to talk-up these 2 fun bookshelves for a while. The first (dubbed the cave book shelf and designed by Sakura Adachi) reminds me of exactly the sort of nook I’d seek out as a kid before curling up with a book. Of course, I could do with a little less pink. And the second, well, that just soothes this nerd’s longing for the days of Algebra I. Ah, math. In any case, I learned about both of these through the always-intriguing ProductDose.

  1. Actually, the cave reminds me of the bookshelves in my college library.

  2. To add to the discussion, how do folks organize their mass market paperbacks? I have a large collection in great condition, but am having to store them horizontal stacked on top of each other to save space.

Any good bookshelves that specialize in that sort of book?

  3. I love the nook bookshelve. I think every little kid loves to have a little cave to hide from the world in. It’s a great idea.

Sorry John, no brilliant ideas for paperback storage. I tend to pass my books on after I am finished.

  4. John-I used to do the same thing. I finally bought some media shelves. The depth is perfect for paperbacks with only a little bit of space in front. They usually have more adjustable shelves so you can make them the exact height of the books.

  5. To John and Dani–I’ve done the same thing! I uset he very narrow/tall media shelves; they are perfect for mass market and other small “gifty” type books. Plus, because they are so narrow, they fit into smaller spaces along the wall. I actually put one on top of one of my nightstands. Perfect!

I want to know a good way to store magazines without needing one of those shelf boxes!

  6. I NEED the cave bookshelf. I. Need. It.
