We moved up here five years ago and LOVE it -- easy commute, enough "city" stuff to keep me happy and enough nature close by to keep my husband happy. Yes, it gets cold, but we avoid almost all of the awful ice storms that hit further south and east. And yes, people really do leave their cars unlocked here! I lived there and I still have family members there. The people are nice and crime is low. I went back to visit family awhile back. I went with one of my cousins to see other relatives and he parked his car on the street and left his keys in the ignition and left the door unlocked. I asked him if he was insane but he said everybody does that. And after our rather long visit, there was his car, undisturbed. Bismarck(and the entire state) is SOOOO COOOOOLD!!!
