disney also included owls in the majority of the animated films made during his life because of the guilt he had over killing one during his childhood.

My Husband hates what he calls “Disney’s evil empire” as well but my Grandpa, Aunt and Uncle all worked for Disney at one time (I grew up in Burbank, Ca where the disney studios are) and we went every summer. I have nothing but warm fuzzy feelings for Disneyland etc.. Another Walt fact is that his middle name is Elias which was also shared by my Grandfather who worked for the company.

I was never a fan nor hated Disney, I’m neutral about the whole Disney “empire”.

I was on the website of a guy whose father worked for Disney. One of the stories someone submitted was from a jewish guy who worked at Disneyland many years ago. He told how Walt Disney visited where he worked, chatted with him, was very friendly even though the guy was wearing a yarmulka(sp?) and has what he said is an “extremely jewish name.” So he thinks the antisemitism story is false.

and according to robot chicken, after disney died he had his head cut off with a chainsaw and placed on a robot body, only to awake with an undying hunger for Cuban children.

i’ve always had neutral feelings towards mickey mouse. never loved him; never hated him.

AND.. cute fun-fact- he and my boyfriend share the same birthday!

Ditto about the antisemitism. But I disagree about having to love Mickey. I’ve never enjoyed Disney stuff.

Can’t believe you didn’t include Trains as o ne of Walt’s turn ons. He had his own scaled down version that ran through his yard and he loved to engineer it. (Why do you think trains are such a big part of WDW and DL?)
