Ahhh, the short lived galleryfurniture.com Bowl in home city of Houston. If your not from Houston, you'll have no idea on who Mattress Mack, founder and extravagant owner of Gallery Furniture. Mack has been quite a character for a long time, always holding money is his commercials, promising you to "SAVE YOU MONEY, TODAY". I personally love the guy, his entrepreneurial spirit and his charismatic personality. Despite the dubious name of the bowl game, he was just trying to put Houston back in the football bowl spotlight. Despite Houston and Texas passsion for football, we hadn't had bowl game for awhile.

The Puppy Bowl is always on during the Super Bowl. Not sure of the date this season, but it's usually either at the end of January or the beginning of February. Don't forget about the Kitten Half-Time Show too!

"When MPC bought the 2004-2006 naming rights for the game played on the trademark blue “Smurf Turf” of Boise’s Bronco Stadium (below), “humanitarian” was dropped and the name was changed to the MPC Computers Bowl." Well, what do you expect? It's named after the villainous computer in "Tron" who wanted to take over the world. :-P
