We’ve been watching our share of campaign coverage the last few weeks. But during Saturday’s debates, we couldn’t help thinking we’ve heard this all before. Turns out, we had.
We pulled ten statements from transcripts of Presidential debates. Decide whether the quote is from this political season or a prior campaign, then come back and tell us how you did.
Take the quiz: The Debating Game
90%! I missed the Woody Boyd one.

Oh, I forgot to ask– that whole horizontal/vertical leadership thing from Mike Huckabee… do any of you know what the heck he’s talking about??

80% I watched Huckabee on Letterman. He’s talking about a politician who will quit making claims for or against the “right and left” but rather take America in a direction that is up, as opposed to down. He’s just getting his plea in for everyone who is independent to vote for him. They’re all doing it. No one can win with just one party’s votes. They’re all full of hot air and shit. And we are left to sort out the lesser of two (or 8) evils.

80% but that was based on guessing since they are all talking double-speak-babble.

I’m kind of disgusted at myself, because this was my first ever 100% on a mentalfloss quiz…

90%! Only missed on the Romney/Clinton question.
I bet you could do the same thing with candidate quotes from 50 or more years ago.

I missed the the Ron Paul/Ross Perot question, and I miss Perot running for President, it made for such great skits on Saturday Night Live.

90% I go the first one wrong; it sure fit Edwards to a “t” but who’d ever believe Jimmy Carter had any thoughts whatsoever about domestic policy towards corporations. All I remember is his Anti-American on foreign policy. I didn’t realize his screw-ups extended to corporate relations.
Then again, there is his famous “lusting after women in his heart” policy statement. I guess that kinda counts as domestic policy, right?
