Great to see such an enthusiastic response to Ransom’s call for photographers this morning. One other project we’re launching is the ‘mental_floss reader photo of the week.’ This one’s for Flickr users. If you have a Flickr account, and think one of your photos is particularly interesting, tag it ‘flossphotos.’ We’ll pick our favorite each week and post it here, with a link back to your Flickr gallery. (And, if submissions are extra special, we make this a daily feature. No promises.)
I’m sure you can do better than the picture above, which I snapped at the Birmingham International Airport during a particularly frustrating delay.
Here’s a couple of interesting shots I got in the last few weeks.

I had to make sure I had the tag right, because so far I’m the only person to have used it. Hmmm…

Are you looking for shots of objects, places, etc? Or are portraits ok, too?

Alison — I see 39 results in a Flickr tag search of ‘flossphotos.’
flickr.com/search/?q=flossphotos&m=tags
No real criteria, but it’d have to be a pretty fascinating portrait to earn the coveted ‘reader photo of the day’ title. Mostly we’re looking for people to show off cool stuff they’ve found.

Jason — I didn’t do a search, but after I tagged my photos, I clicked on the tag and was taken to a page that showed the pics, and it said “You’re the only person to have used this tag.”
I see that there are 70-some tagged photos now…off to look at them all!
