Just last week, Hostess Brands filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy, leaving millions wondering what life would be like without Twinkies (once famously referred to on TV’s All in the Family as “WASP soul food”). While the company has assured fans that their products will remain in production, the whole story got us thinking about those treats that brighten the days of kids and adults by appearing in lunchbags across the country. Today’s Lunchtime Quiz challenges you to match 10 trademarked snacks to the brand names under which they’re currently sold. A score of 6 or better is considered a win (and validation to head to the nearest snack machine). Good luck!

  1. 8/10 I was going back and forth on the 2 I got wrong. Nice to see a little local love with Tasty Kake. Yes I know they were sold to a bigger company last year.

  5. I had to think back 13 years to when I drove a truck around and filled vending machines—I only got 6/10, but the ones I got I knew without looking at the list of manufacturers. The other four I guessed wrong :(

    Bruce, or should I say Rick?—If Tastycake is local love, Hershey’s isn’t too far…I’m about the same distance from both!

    Sara—don’t ya love getting an odd number correct on these types of tests. When I do it, it means I’ve either screwed up or decided to hedge my bets…

  12. 8/10. I drive by the Twizzlers factory every day on the way to work. They make a few different candies there, but I can definitely tell when it’s cherry Twizzler day.
