Harriet is the real deal. Four or five books a day isn't hard. There are some of us just wired into drinking them up within a couple of hours. Of course, we're not talking War and Peace, we're talking sci-fi, fantasy, romance, legal dramas, murder mysteries, etc.

This 'Grady Harp' on the other hand....hmmm.

The REAL reviews you have to watch out for are reviews from people who work at the company that sending you stuff - Amazon Storefronts.

I just bought something at a store because ALL of the reviews for this company were 4 or 5 stars and there were maybe 20 of them. Not a single one of those reviews mentioned the Return Policy, which has to be the worst return policy EVER: "We don't accept returns, but maybe if you call and plead your case, we MAY, under extreme circumstances, accept your return, but charge you a TWENTY FIVE PERCENT re-stocking fee." Nice.

The reality on the ground is that, if you wish to read an accurate review prior to a purchase, you
1) look at the consumer reviews on Amazon.
2) Look up the top reviewers in that product's category and finally
3) Toss any reviews from people that are on the top 10 reviewers list out and read the remaining ones.

Web 2.0 at its finest.

Count me in as another Amazon reviewer with a handful of reviews. I glance at the customer reviews but don't make them the deciding factor if I want to buy the book or not.

Four or five books a day? I call B.S.

I'm the more typical reviewer (I'm fixedgear there as well) with a dozen or so reviews.
