I read somewhere that when Gene found out about the woman who had snuck out to meet her, that from that moment on, “I didn’t care if I was anyone’s favorite movie star anymore.” I cannot begin to imagine her hearbreak when she found out about that woman’s thougtlessness.

I really doubt Farmer was schizophrenic. Maybe she was bi-polar.
