Yes the world would have truly been a sad place without Trivial Pursuit. What would I have spent all those afternoons in my grandparents house doing? I had heard the Lincoln Log story before, but I also work in a Frank Lloyd Wright museum store www.westcotthouse.org. I am a bigger fan of the Froebel Block and Lego though.

You can get the fun from your old toy days back at www.souptoys.com - the creators of virtual toys (the same as you used to play with as a kid eg. blocks, dolls, firing canons) for play on your computer... be warned - they are very cute and addictive!

This nudged me to remember the wallpaper cleaner from my childhood in the 50s when my folks were doing some minor renovations. I also remember Play-Doh from about the same time. I didn't realize the connection until today. Thank you for an interesting post.

Right, Roger, and Wright was the one who set up the cantelevered logs, so he had worked on the design even before construction began.

It's lucky they did it that way, too, since an earthquake struck just months after the hotel opened.

The Imperial Hotel was built in 1923. Lincoln Logs came out in 1916? Sounds like someone forgot to fact check.
