matthew perry from friends is missing the tip of his middle finger one one hand. you can see it clearly in several episodes.

not famous either… but my grandmother is missing part of her middle finger. when I was a kid she would pretend she was picking her nose and it looked like she had her whole dang finger up in there. still kinda grosses me out.

Although not famous, my General Chemistry professor my freshman year in college was missing part of a finger. It was so distracting (although his monotone voice basically dictating his power point word-for-word didn’t help either). So distracting that I skipped every class and only showed up for tests. Still got an A.

As a person who is missing fingers, albeit not a famous person, I don’t understand why actors/actresses do so much to hide the fact they are missing a digit.

Yeah, Three Finger Brown (known to his teammates as Miner) lost a finger and a half on his pitching hand in a farm equipment accident as a child. They really should have called him Three and a Half Finger Brown. Brown was one of the first pre-Ruth baseball stars in the early 1900s and is in the Hall of Fame.

I bet you could find lots of photos of yakuza guys with various fingers missing.

And Chicago Cubs pitcher Mordecai “Three-Finger” Brown was also missing a finger.

Actually, Gary Burghoff was missing a digit. And he did hide in all scenes. He was always carrying something in that hand. So if you watch the episodes now knowing to look for it you can sometimes catch quick glimpses.
