What, no mention of possibly the most famous false obituary? Mark Twain stumbled across his own obituary once. In response, he wrote a letter to the newspaper that had printed it, stating “The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.” Hence, the title of this article…and yet he’s not mentioned!

*snickers* . . . that marcus garvey epitaph sounds so contrived . . . make believe in the absence of truth . . . so mainstream media, it’s as if we are to believe a man of such distinction would so easily be felled by a premature obituary, never mind the cruelty of the world he endured at the time, i guess what it all amounts to is that we should be careful what we read or else it may kill us . . . *sigh*

Huh, no Alfred Nobel. A French newspaper thought Nobel had died and called the inventor of dynamite the “Merchant of Death.” Nobel was terrified that people would remember him like this so he began the Nobel Prize
