An interesting study used MRI technology on the brains of jazz musicians while they played. Certain areas were turned on or off when they began to improvise, leading to some insights on creativity.

  4. I think it depends on where you are logging in from. I see my university Science login info on the site there. If you are connected through an ip that is not associated with a subscription, it will probably prompt for a login.

    My fellow (physical chemistry/nanotech) grad students and I often joke about presenting our defenses and group meetings through interpretive dance, so I got quite the kick out of this.
