I’ve been to Parc D’Asterix, it’s one of my favorite amusement parks. It’s really well done, very tongue in cheek. Knowing the Asterix comics does make some of the jokes more funny, but it would still be fun for someone who doesn’t know them. My 2 favorite jokes at the park were, a sign post with several signs on it, and all the signs said “Rome;” and the Zeus roller coaster, which had a massive statue of Zeus in front of it, and to get on the ride, you went in between his legs. If you looked up, you saw that Zeus was wearing pink flowery underwear. :) WAAAY better than Disneyland Paris by the way.

Ok, i am going to assume you know this because it is almost exactly the same, but Cracked.com just published there list of 9 wierest amusement parks and it has the exact ones you chose and also the same pictures.

Yeah, Universal Studios is opening a Harry Potter section in 2010. Can’t wait, personally…I want to play Quidditch! Maybe with the “be in a Nintendo game” thing?
I want to know where that Dickens World is…that looks…interesting…in a weird, want to see 19th century poverty sort of way (Great Expectations boat ride?!)

As far as amusement parks in the works: they made an announcement (a year ago?) that Harry Potter Land would be built in Florida. Yea, I wouldn’t mind going to Hogwart’s.

One more fact about the Ocean Dome, the “sand” used inside the Dome is specially engineered to be non-sticky when you are wet. Another thing is that Miyazaki is not a big city by any means and the people who come to the dome are mostly tourist and those who come for the Golf. Been there many times… and funtime42 is right the riptides are quite nasty and the jellyfishes are common.
