		<description>As recently as the 1970s the US Post Office offered a similar single-sheet, flimsy international air mail &quot;letter.&quot;  It included postage and was folder in such a way that there was quite a bit of space for the message inside.  It is now long forgotten, but &quot;air mail&quot; once was quite amazing.

For the men overseas using V-mail, the wait for mail call and then the arrival of a bundle of letters brought many emotions.  There is much to be said for a world in which communication is NOT instantaneous and where, on occasion, one takes time to shape a thought, knowing that it will be read and re-read in a letter.</description>

		<description>It&#039;s the BOTTLE of ink in the V-mail kit that amazed me!  It sort of brought home to me just how much has happened in the intervening years.  Can you imagine carrying a glass bottle of ink into combat? I also love the ..._ as the hyphen.</description>
