I tried the baking soda, it eventually made my skin red and raw, and I still smelled. From what I’ve read, it’s not the aluminum that is a cancer risk, but affected lymph nodes under the arm test highly positive for the preservatives in deodorants, stuff like parabens and propylene glycol. I spend a little extra money, and buy the natural products without these preservatives. Also heard that coconut oil is a good deodorant, haven’t tried it.

I shat you not, my husband does not have B.O. He doesn’t wear deodorant/antiperspirant, and unless he’s doing massive amounts of physical labor, he has no B.O. His father is the same way.

My grandma used plain old baking soda – no aluminum, perfumes or dyes. Not sure if there are any negative side-effects, but she never smelled bad.

When they moved, my Mom found an old can of deodorant from the 70s. It was called ’5-day deodorant’. What? They expected you to use it only once every five days? Or did was the claim that you only had to take a shower once every 5 days? Genius marketing (NOT!). I couldn’t stop laughing!!!

I use the crystal deodorant myself. I like it – I’m not fond of artificial fragrance of any kind, so the fact that it doesn’t have a scent is a bonus for me.

I eat a normal diet (most of my grain-products are whole grain, and I eat vegetables, fruit, meats, and dairy products – no vegetarianism or vegan diet here!). I have never had a B.O. problem using the crystal deodorant. The crystal deodorant can cost over $6 but the thing is, one crystal deodorant lasts me well over a year so in the long run it costs MUCH less than regular deodorants anyway.

Great artical,I loved it. I have heard that deoterant is good, but antipersperents are bad, our bodys are ment to sweet and get rid of toxens, whats real bad is the people who get bowtox injected to their armpits to stop sweet all together.
