Ginny: A couple people have requested sculptures, so I’ll try to do a sculpture post, maybe Rodin, in the near future. As for Toulouse-Lautrec, we try to stick to pre-1900 works of art to avoid copyright problems. Most of his works that I know of are post-1900, but I’ll dig around to see if I can find a good pre-1900 one.

It has been wonderful to catch up on your previous entries in this series here. I just realized that on a previous blog comment, I requested Rodin and El Greco, which you have already included. How about a photo of a Rodin sculpture, though? And also some Toulouse-Lautrec, who you mentioned, but didn’t actually show one of his paintings.

Call me a rebel, but I for one do not like the new banner very much. The thick, gooey paint certainly evokes “real art,” but quite frankly, I loved the old “Crayolesque” banner. I’m just not “feeling” this new banner.

That said, I do congratulate Andréa for five months of outstanding posts. This is a good chance for me to catch up on a few I missed. Thanks… and keep up the good work!

Did Binney and Smith have anything to do with the new banner? This is certainly more attractive, in any event.

I have really enjoyed this feature, and look forward to learning more about art and artists. Thanks for digging up these treasures and helping us all to appreciate them more.
