I had a friend who cut her entire family's hair with the Flowbee, they certainly weren't salon style - but very decent.

For the record - the Flowbee was invented in the late 80's and Wayne's World came out in 1992.

Infomercials are fantastic, though something seems to be lost in the 30 minute versions. When you only had a commercial to sell in they were much more of a pitch and sell.

I've certainly purchased more than my share of "As Seen On TV" products.

We have had a Magic Bullet for years, and love it. Great machine. Worst product ever? Bump-It - the hair bump thingie. Does anyone, anywhere really WANT to look hydrocephalic?

I think my favorite of days past was the one for the spray-on hair. That was hysterical! But what I love about infomercials, especially the ones today that are 30 minute programs, are the fact that they tell you exactly what you want to hear. As I always say, it's the stuff that I never knew that I needed. Of course, its rare that I buy any of them, however I do still have a few of my K-Tel records from the 70s!

I bought a Magic Bullet when my daughter was a bab. It is awesome for making baby food, and we still use it on a regular basis for milkshakes.

A few years ago, I worked second shift at a factory. About the only thing on TV when I would get home at 2am were infomercials. One of my personal favorites was for the Little Giant ladder system. They took the better part of the list of "don't do" ladder safety rules and proceeded to do them on camera. They showed a little old lady putting one side of the ladder on a dining table to change bulbs in a chandelier!

Recaptcha: belt adorn, in honor of the Bedazzler, obviously.

I'm the daughter of Samuel Joseph Popeil, not Samuel Jacob Popeil. That error was made in a New Yorker article for some strange reason. Thought I'd write in to correct it.
