PATTERSON NISSAN HOHB STATEMENT:

Sept. 15, 2005

This has been a tragic event for Rick Vega and his family, along with the other contestants and everyone at Patterson Nissan. [Note: the dealership has changed hands several times since the documentary was made, when it was Jack Long Nissan, but the contest has continued nonetheless.]

Out of respect for Mr. Vega and his family, we did not feel that continuing the contest would be appropriate. We appreciate the contestants, the sponsors and the community at large for their support.

The future of the Hands on a Hardbody contest has not been determined at this time.

Amazing. ‘Hands on a Hard Body’ is one of my favorite docs. Does anyone know if this means they’re going to stop holding the competition? (PS – nice work, Ransom)
