Here in the Philippines I’ve seen Bokia instead of Nokia. Holds a special meaning because ‘bokya’, a sound-alike word, means zero or loser in Filipino.

We also have a legit battery called Eveready. It has a number nine on the logo with a cat going thru the hole. Then there was Everpower, sporting the figure eight with a rat going thru the hole as well. What cheek!

in fiji i bought a packet of what i thought were cadburies dairy milk chocolate bars in a bulk pack..suspiciously cheap. got home and realised it was “daily milk” instead of dairy. and the logo only had one cup of milk pouring instead of two!

In a department store in China I found a “France Boy” (!) line of cloths complete with the Playboy bunny logo. Why they substituted “France” for Play I have no idea.

Exploring chinatown I found what looked like a normal packet of oreos. On closer inspection I realised that they were in fact “orions”. Didn’t buy any, but they looked pretty damn similar to the real thing.
