  1. I had always learned that the “snakes” that St. Patrick drove out of Ireland were actually the Jews of the country.

    Of course this could be some crazy tale, but it makes sense. I visited Ireland last winter and found the Jewish community to be only 1200 people, a startlingly small population.

  3. Hey the sod house is about 10 miles from my hometown! I have pictures of my great-great grandparents standing in front of their sod house. I’m sure they never guessed their housing techniques would be en vogue now!
