@LawMonkey--good call on Kate Hepburn as Catwoman! I had never thought of it before and although she almost certainly wouldve accepted the part (she abstained from the horror flicks her colleagues indulged in during the 60s) I think she wouldve been fantastic in such an evil roll!

The "colossal cock-up" being that Fox produced the TV show but Warner Bros. now owns the rights to the Batman character. Thus complete and utter stagnation on any DVD sets.

It was aired on Wednesdays ("Tune in tomorrow - same Bat-time, same Bat-channel") and Thursdays.

Love the series, though season three, with Batgirl, is a bit weak. Shame that there seems to be some colossal cock-up that's keeping us from ever getting a legitimate DVD set.

Burgess Meredith was classic as the Penguin, but I'd love to peek into the alternate universe where Spencer Tracy took the part. Shame that Katherine Hepburn would've been a bit old for the Catwoman role...

I remember when that show premiered we only had a black and white TV. My mom helped my brother and I make a batman shirt for my dad - - the colors were completely wrong, but he cherished it and even wore it to work. I also remember that the show was on twice a week (Tuesday and Thursday I think) - does anyone remember if that was true?

Oh, the memories... Saturday mornings spent watching Batman with my dad. Every time, I had to shout along, "Same bat-time, same bat-place!". Goodness.

I did watch the movie again recently, and I have to say it's one of the funnier movies I've ever seen.

Some days, you just can't get rid of a bomb.

Really, best batmobile ever? It doesn't hold a candle (pinkies pointed out) to the Tumbler, or the Tim Burton one.

That's like saying the Commodore 64 was the best home computer ever. I never understood people's bitterness to present technology, auto or otherwise. Yes, I can admit that older cars do have great nostalgic value (I personally love most muscle cars of the late 60's early 70's) but to say they we're the best ever.... over reaching slightly, but your hyperbole was definitely the best thing I ever read!

>>So according to #2 we can deduce that Robin was the pitcher and Batman was the catcher.

I for certain that we can deduce that Robin was the Batter! :)
