So you think you’re a bookworm? A regular bibliophile? Can you name the well-known novel based on the clues provided? Go take our first WHO AM I? quiz and find out!

Comments (16)
  1. I’m a librarian. I should do better than 4 of 10. Boo.

  2. I guess I am not the bibliophile I thought i was….4 out of 10 as well.

  3. 2/10. The two I got are some of my favorite books, and the rest I haven’t read. Not bad for only being a high school junior, though…

    right?

  4. You spelled one of your book titles wrong, which caused me to miss it. The one about the Pequod has a hyphen in it. I’d also have had 4 of 10 if not for it.

  5. 3/10 – and I’ve read a couple of the ones I missed. Guess I’m just not a book worm when it comes to the “classics.”

  6. arggh. I missed Of Mice and Men and War and Peace because I used a hyphen in place of and. Still would only have been @ 50%, though.

  7. Adrian: yes it does have a hyphen. Are you sure you’re spelling it correctly? We have many spelling options for that one in the answer key.

And, yeah, Kary, hyphen instead of “and” would def cause you to miss in a quiz like this.

  8. Moby Dick’s original title is “Moby-Dick, or, The Whale,” so it looks like we all got it wrong.

  9. I only got 2/10. I would have preferred being offered a choice of titles rather than typing in a name. Sour grapes? Yeah, probably…

  10. The last question doesn’t allow the word “and” instead of an ampersand? Really? That seems a little too picky to me.

  11. Yeah, ignore that first comment. I just realized I also misspelled one of the names.

  12. I was shocked to get 6/10 on this. I only knew three for sure (Moby Dick, Of Mice and Men, Kavalier and Clay) and I guessed at three more of them.

  13. I got 0/10 After I saw the answers, I saw that I answered with the author’s name rather than the story’s name in 2 cases, so I got an ‘average’score.

  14. Julia,

My sympathies… I’m also a librarian and I only beat you by one (that would’ve been by two, if I had only chosen the correct Tolstoy novel ;-))

  15. I got 8 right.. kind of. I got everything wrong because when it asked “Who am I?” I thought it was asking the name of the author.. whoops!

Being a bibliophile and working at Barnes for three years has paid off, haha.

  16. I got six, making the same mistake that mae did; I gave the character’s name when it asked ‘Who’ as opposed to ‘what book’.
