		<description>My understanding, from a French-speaking boyfriend, was that April Fool evolved out of Poisson de Avril (April Fish). His explanation was that the French thought that spring fish were particularly foolish and easy to catch and maybe, to some degree, that it was a little silly seeing a fish swim in the opposite direction.

I don&#039;t know how true it is, but it&#039;s always made me laugh. And, since then, I&#039;ve always tried to hang a fish (picture, not real) somewhere. It&#039;s just so obsurd (along with the explanation) that it gets a laugh or two.</description>
