@Arby it’s not as outrageous as it first sounds. The people of North Korea are SO brainwashed that without him the country would literally fall apart, but if we went in there to try to hold it together they would just revolt and it would fall apart.

I’m not saying that it’s a good idea to do it, but it’s the only way it would work.

Certainly some of you had to have seen the Robert Evans joint “Kid Notorious” at some point! It was a cartoon show, one episode of which The Kid is kidnapped by Kim Jong so he can produce a North Korean movie, and in cooperation with the US State Dept. attempts to snuff the diminutive leader. Look it up, it was hilarious.

This guy is disturbed. No doubt. But I don’t understand comments like, “we should nuke him”. You do know that a nuke is not a knife in the back, right? It would kill EVERYBODY in the country. So are people suggesting that to end the injustice in North Korea, we just wipe the country off the face of the earth? It’s like saying someone has cancer, so we’ll just blow that cancer up with some dynamite.

Nuremberg Trials were not fair. Only one regime underwent the trial. The other is still acting (and in many eastern countries it was much worse than the first one).

World can do Saddam but it does not do it because of the Sadam, it follows the money and power. And besides, how can we tell without a bias whom to nuke (If Jong II, why not Chavess, Putin or Christianity)?

No matter how neutral the author tried to sound, as long as the facts are stated, everything in print here states how disgusting this guy is. I wonder why with all that monstrosity going on, with the world watching, he can STILL live for 18 years (starting 1991, right?)in luxury and with people supporting him, and with the people he SHOULD support falling into famine. Sometimes I wonder why we should be clutching our fists while we can just nuke the f*ck out of him or better still, just force in military to get him and give him a fair trial like the Nazi generals in the Nuremberg Trials. Then execute him like Saddam or the generals. I mean, I’m so fired up whenever I hear his name. If the world can do Saddam, they can definitely do Jong Il. I mean…what the f*ck. Like commenter Dennis said, this is NOT FUNNY. We should humiliate him properly by fair means like trials and stuff instead of executing him so easily. He needs something normal, FAIR guys do for a change. Like a perfectly unbiased trial. Don’t you think so?

Sorry if I got too carried away. This guy is just so damn whatever, you know? This helluva abomination should be made known to the world.

It is a true story. This same regime liked to kidnap Japanese citizens at nigh off of beaches to serve as models of the Japanese language and culture for the training on North Korean spies.

I’ve been living in South Korea for 5 years and have read many news stories of how North Korea under Kim Jong Il and his father have kidnapped dozens of people, both Japanese and South Koreans – and is still trying ( 2 or 3 years ago ). He is a disgusting communist despot. He has starved his people while living in luxury. He wallows, like the pig he is, in his foreign-bought western consumer goods, while he tells his people that they should blame America and the West for there being scant food and electricity in his country. This story about Choi and Shin is true, and only one example of North Korea’s despicable human rights record. ~ I thought the author of this article chose the correct tone : statement of the facts, with a hint of sarcasm. Stating the facts is enough to condemn the miscreant Kim Jong Il. And sarcasm to comment on his blind egomania, idiotic artistic demands, and pompous audacity in offerring ‘a mansion and a yacht’ to make his prisoners forget they’ve been kidnapped. It is for these reasons he should be REVILED. He has destroyed many innocent lives of non-North Korean people. This is NOT funny.

I honestly believe that Kim Jong Il absolutely needs some serious psychological help. Everyone in his own country is too terrified (and rightly so) to insist that he get help, and I doubt he will ever seek it on his own. So, Sean … I don’t agree that he is comical (although SOME of his actions seem so)but rather a cross between suspense and horror.
