My parents had a toilet paper holder that looked like the back of a vw bug. It was always hidden, a gag gift, but when they were going to get rid of it, I insisted on keeping it. It has since dissapeared and I miss it greatly.

What about those singing toilet roll holders? My mother had some from Japan and every time I visited and used the bathroom she put one in it'd scare the crap out of me. Not only that, whenever someone was over to visit they'd come out of the bathroom with this incredulous look on his/her face and say, "Did you know that your toilet paper is uh.. singing?"

Yes, the vertical ". . . makes the over/under argument a matter of history . . .", however it opens up the whole "clockwise vs. counterclockwise" argument. And whichever of the two is deemed appropriate, is that standard then reversed when in the southern hemisphere?

Simply too many questions . . .

I have two bathrooms, one built just a few years ago, the other recently remodeled. Can you believe neither one has a TP holder installed? One has a free-standing unit, the other just a shelf, because I am taking my sweet time deciding on the perfect dispenser before I put holes in the walls.

Re: the "vertical" dispenser. It looks much like two of the dispensers I've got in my home that are mounted horizontally. There are lots of "open-ended" dispensers available that the roll just slides onto. I would guess that any of these could be mounted vertically.

If you tilt your head 90 degrees to the left, it looks almost exactly like the one in my bathroom.

Where are the by-line pictures for each post? Even though I know what all of you look like, I enjoy seeing the photos each day. Thanks for giving me smiles every morning. It'a great blog.
