This is an old post. I wanted to provide an update. Back in 2009 the Governator (Gov. Schwarzenegger of CA) wrote a veto letter that I have linked from the official website of the Governor of California. This is not a joke. Please note the acrostic.

A bit late, but the inclusion of the late Rolfe Humphries and his “Draft Ode for a Phi Beta Kappa Occasion” is an absolute necessity in any list of acrostics.

Niobe’s daughters yearn to the womb again,
Ionians bright and fair, to the chill stone;
Chaos in cry, Actaeon’s angry pack,
Hounds of Molussus, shaggy wolves driven

Over Ampsanctus’ vale and Pentheus’ glade,
Laelaps and Ladon, Dromas, Canace,â€”
As these in fury harry brake and hill
So the great dogs of evil bay the world.

Memory, Mother of Muses, be resigned
Until King Saturn comes to rule again!
Remember now no more the golden day
Remember now no more the fading gold,
Astraea fled, Proserpina in hell;
You searchers of the earth be reconciled!

Because, through all the blight of human woe,
Under Robigo’s rust, and Clotho’s shears,

As a former newspaper copy editor I recall a story that went around about a copy editor at a competing paper who put together the weather package and was working his last day before moving on. He opted to get his revenge on the executive editor he hated by rearranging the U.S. cities forecast list so the first letters spelled EBENER IS AN ASSHOLE.
I don’t know which cities he used, but one word could have used

Atlanta
San Francisco
St. Louis
Honolulu
Omaha
Los Angeles
Erie

I had a friend whose resignation letter spelled out f*** you, not once, but 3 times. I think it took him 2 hours to figure out how to do it.
