In the ten years from the mid-80s until the mid-90s, hair bands made a living off reintroducing the public to classic rock songs, some hits and some misses. But can you recall which group recorded which hit? Try today’s lunchtime quiz to find out.
10 out of 10, baby! I was too young to be a fan of any of those bands or see them in concert, but I used to have this awesome babysitter when I was 8 who taught me everything I needed to know about hair bands.
On another note, you know who would do a great cover of Radar Love? Tori Amos. Seriously, think about it.
10 out of 10. I loved this quiz, but you should have made it an audio quiz. It was way TOO EASY. Still would have been too easy for me, but I would have enjoyed hearing the songs. Well, I’ve got all the cds so I guess it doesn’t matter. I love the music quizzes, the audio guitar solos quiz was my fave, but I needed my hubby’s help with that.
OK, please let me share my G-n-R claim to fame (no one else cares, or is too young to even know who they were!). In college I was in a Sorority. One night a friend (sorry, I was never one of those where *everyone’s a sister* crap) came tearing in my room begging me to get up Guns and Roses was downstairs in our Sorority house. Believe me, I didn’t care WHO was downstairs. NO ONE wakes me up! But alas, she did get me up and low and behold that’s how I spent the next 48 hrs. With Duffy, Gilby Clark and the rest of ‘em. They had come to our town to watch a friend’s little band play and since they weren’t Slash or Axel, no one bothered them. Some of my *sisters* (just calling them that here so as to keep this less confusing) struck up a conversation w/ them at the bar, and the rest is history. They were really a nice bunch of guys. SERIOUSLY! No hook-ups, they were just like a bunch of goofy guys who thought it was just as cool to be hanging out w/ a bunch of sorority girls as we did hanging out w/ them. They gave us tickets to their concert the next night w/ backstage passes. I did chat w/ Slash for a little bit after the concert, again a super nice guy. Axel was an *ss hole came in for 5 min. w/ a severe attitude and left. Thanks for letting me relive my 90’s moment :^).
I thought for sure I would ace this one. But they are all remakes, and all I can think of are the original artists!

Ingrid, nice story. Wouldn’t want to meet Axl, but the other guys seemed alright.

Ingrid — We’ve got a Guns N’ Roses quiz in the works. Many of the questions confirm your thoughts on Axl.

Can’t wait for the Gn’R quiz! I just finished reading Slash’s autobiography. Best line ever in any bio: “I was pissed off at myself for having died”
