The Survey Says…

Your opinion is important to us. Your demographic info is important to our advertisers. Let’s kill two birds with one survey!

(That doesn’t sound very enticing. Let us sweeten the deal.)

2. Come back here and leave a comment that says something to the effect of “I took the survey!”

3. We will pick 4 winners at random to receive “I took the survey!” prizes. One lucky respondent will win the mental_floss t-shirt of his or her choosing. The second, third and fourth lucky respondents will win a free back issue of mental_floss magazine. And a fifth survey-taker will win Bob Dylan: The Drawn Blank Series, a book of the sketches by the Pulitzer Prize winner. A $60 value! (Or $6 per survey question. Not bad.)

Now, I realize someone could easily scam us by not taking the survey and leaving a fraudulent comment. So I’ll ask that you also tell us your answer to survey question #7.

  4. I saw the magazine at Whole Foods when I moved to a new town. I bought it and loved it so much that I gave my Dad and I subscriptions. When I was looking into the subscriptions online I found the blog. I now read it very often.

    A bunch of kids called me from a dorm room at Duke asking to reserve the domain mentalflossmag.com (mentalfloss.com was already taken at the time). They weren’t exactly sure what they were going to do with it at the time, but a year or two later came Vol 1, Issue 1 with good ol’ Al Einstein sticking out his tongue at us, gracing the 1st of one of the best magazine reads anywhere!     I bought a small tiny book called “Instant Knowledge” from a local book store, it caught my eye and instantly had be hooked because I love reading random facts. Often I spend hours browsing the interenet for random facts so this book was instantly a favorite. From it I found the website and now I visit here several times a day filling my mind with things and then telling my friends all the random things I learned. I can’t get the magazine at the moment so the website is awesome!

    I got 15 (of 15 possible) points on it, and my English teacher is for ever convinced that having his students prepare presenations on topics of their own choice is a fantastic idea…
