I find it interesting that Chris can do that too. My teacher in high school, on several occasions has noticed when her students or coworkers were pregnant. Sever times before the person themself knew. Kinda creepy. but an amazing testiment to the VNO

By far the best article I have read in a very long article. It had me blown away on several occasions. Thank you for the read.

I must say I think there is a lot of truth to this. As an adult male, I’ve always had some weird ability to sense when women are pregnant early in their pregnancy (in most cases when I have no idea they were even trying), with almost 100% accuracy. Freaky, but perhaps also smell-orientated.

I think my husband still has a working VNO. He can always tell when I’m ovulating and he can’t keep his hands off me. I do agree with Sawicki’s point, though, which is why we had him neutered.

Yeah, I agree with that, Sawicki! Thanks for the interesting read though. I remember vaguely reading about the Swedish study a bit ago and wanted to look into it more. Science is so awesome!

All very interesting, except for this part: “After all, the ability to ‘read’ ovulation cycles consciously could be the most effective birth control ever devised” As a woman, this comment actually makes me very angry. To call such a thing “the most effective birth control ever devised” is ignoring the way a woman’s libido works. A woman’s sex drive is highest when she’s ovulating, so such a “birth control” would only be good on the most basic of principles, i.e. the chick doesn’t get pregnant, but at least a guy got some ;)

This is very interesting. I’ve read several articles over the years about attraction and smell. but i’m not sure i’d want to smell out a mate just yet. messing with genetics seems like a bad idea.
