I’ve already noted Stephen King’s enormous popularity in the 1980s (see “KING of the Eighties” quiz), but it was a lucrative decade for many of his fellow writers, as well. How many do you remember? Try our True/False quiz based on the plethora of novels that débuted in the eighties.

  1. There’s actually a mistake in the literature of the eighties quiz.

On question #1, it is true that John falls in love with Franny first, and Franny has a relationship with Susie The Bear. However…

    (spoiler)

At the end of The Hotel New Hampshire, John is in love with and married to Susie The Bear. So…either answer is correct, I think.

Oh, and I got 67% with getting that question wrong. Ah, my misspent youth.

  2. Thank you, Duke Egbert! I was coming here to post the same thing! #1 is a trick question OR it was poorly-researched.

Perhaps I should apply for one of those internships. Hm.

  3. Sorry, Duke and Rachel… I was relying too much on my own memory for that one. So yes, Rachel, you could say it was poorly researched! (And I am way too old to be an intern, but you should apply!)
