We did the Scottish Play when I was in high school....one of the girls playing the "bloody apparition" (who I later replaced) was hit head-on by a drunk driver in broad daylight, the paramedics didn't expect to find anyone in her car alive. She lived, but everything below her waist was shattered. In the week before we opened, there was a massive chemical spill in the chem lab storage room, and a water main break that closed the school about 10 feet from the theatre. Ironically, the night before that happened, I had a dream that the theatre flooded. During tech week, 3 of our leads (myself being one of them) got sick. I also got a concussion from getting hit by a falling hanging mic. Two of the extras had allergic reactions to make up. And Finally, we didn't have enough chairs for the wedding scene and people had to fake sitting. THE CURSE IS REAL! So I did not used to believe in the Scottish Play. Used to being the operative word.
