Loved the article, except for the unnecessary use of apostrophes in point 2. Roman’s? Mom’s? I don’t want to be a grammar Nazi, but this mistake is one that always gets me going. Or perhaps I should say, get’s. :)

If only I could be She Who Dominates the Remote… In my house it´s He Who Dominates the Remote and Changes Channels Constantly Switching Between Sports Networks. Yes, it´s a long title but he celebrates it every day… What would I do without books…?

Gosh I can’t stand snottiness.

I think I’ll have “Great Lady of Magic.”

Since my husband and child think it takes magic to get clean dishes out of the dishwasher and dirty clothes into the hamper.

kate: i was being a little tongue-in-cheek with the word infamous. i’ll put it in quotes. you probably know that the line in the original song: “let us die to make men free” was changed to “let us live to make men free.” sadly, and in a cruel twist of fate, it was this very hymn that MLK quoted in his last public address, before he was murdered. seeing as the song was written by an abolitionist, with an abolitionist POV, the sad irony is all too clear.

I think I’m going to start having my daughter and husband refer to me as “Mistress of the House of Life.” It has a nice ring to it.

Mothering Sunday is still celebrated in the UK, and usually referred to as Mother’s Day. The Brits don’t observe the American ‘Hallmark Holiday’.
