A lot of ballads have nothing BUT verses. Billy Joel did this A LOT (“I’ve Seen the Lights Go Out on Boradway”, “I Am The Entertainer”, “Where’s the Orchestra”, etc.). What do you call it when there are variations of A? In “The Entertainer”, it’s verse 1, then a string of others, then verse one again.

Sheesh–your writers should know their facts before they write them. That Madonna song is titled “Into The Groove”. And technically, it doesn’t belong on this list as there are spoken lyrics prior to the sung ones (“And you can dance/For inspiration…”).
