I watched 49 seconds of the hockey puck and I couldn't follow it at all But I'm not a hockey fan in the first place. Besides I agree with Varuna. The plays are more important then then watching the puck.

@CMK and Derek, I'm with you. I still can't believe that Pittsburg is getting a second Winter Classic game before most other teams have had a first. Each team should get their moment, not just Crosbys. I would really like to see bettmen out on his rear.

The streak was annoying, although during the same time the had the invisible boards. So if the play was on the near boards the boards were made "invisible." I did enjoy that since you could see the scrum going on there.

I mostly remember the blue glow being in the crowd instead of on the ice, but that puck could not be used at the Igloo in Pittsburgh due to the materials of the construction of the building, the signal couldn’t get out to the truck.

So glad they took this technology to NASCAR as it was always so hard to tell who was driving which car…

Besides, any true hockey fan usually isn't looking at the puck itself. You're looking at the plays being set up behind the puck to score the goal.

I could be wrong here, maybe it was a joke, but didn't the NFL try to switch to the Metric System for awhile??

I second cmk's thoughts. I can't believe Bettman still has a job. Since he has taken over the game, he has run the league into the ground. Popularity of the game has declined , we have seen 2 lockouts and gross overexpansion, and the league lost its ESPN contract and has been demoted to the dungeons of the VS. network. But, then again, he finds a way to make the owners money, albeit at the expense of the integrity of the game. Sorry to complain, but it is painful to watch my favorite game being turned into the NBA.

With Bettman in charge of the NHL, I wouldn't be surprised if we see lime green pucks and purple ice before he is finally ousted! Bettman=dumb ideas. And yes, I like my hockey the 'old-fashioned' way.

Also, as I recall the modified hockey pucks were much more expensive than the originals, thus people were assigned to go and retrieve each puck that landed in the stands, much to the dismay of the fans. This practice drew much criticism and was later stopped.
