We just had a huge Kahlo exhibit at the Walker Art Center here in Minneapolis. I overheard a museum staff member tell a friend of hers that the exhibit contained something like 27 of Kahlo’s 45 works, many of which will probably never leave Mexico again. I feel fortunate to have been able to see them in my hometown.

The “gang” was more like an intellectual clique. They were students focused primarily on discussing literature and politics, and called themselves the “Chachuchas” (translates to “caps”).

I’m so glad you took the suggestions and covered Frida Kahlo. She’s definitely one of my faves from Art History.
