Let’s not forget his favorite model, Sue Lewin. She can be found in numerous paintings and illustrations by Parrish.

She was also Parrish’s mistress but, if I remember correctly, Parrish would not marry her after his wife died though they continued their relationship until his death.

The album by Dali’s Car had Daybreak as a cover photo for their 1984 album “The Waking Hour.”

I LOVE Maxfield Parrish! In fact, I was just sitting outside two nights ago, thinking about what a Maxfield-Parrish-blue sky it was as the sun was setting… beautiful. When you see what genius went into his creation of color and form, how can anyone argue that this is not true “art”? Illustrators sometimes get a bad rap, but Parrish, Rockwell, and others have brought people so much joy. Thanks, Andréa!

Enya has at times recreated MP paintings for her album covers. Her CD covers for The Memory of Trees and A Day Without Rain come to mind. I don’t know if there are others, I am not that familiar with MP.
