Probably the most often heard word in pop music after the word love, the word baby (or the variations on the baby theme: oh baby, ew baby, baby baby) is as ubiquitous today as it was in old time blues, R&B, and all that jazz. Turn up those speakers and see if you can pick out the artists who recorded 10 of my favorite babies in our Name That “Baby!” quiz. Yeah, baby, yeah.

  1. Got ‘em all right.

But Elliot Smith has an interest

ingly-spelled name in this version… “”Between the Bars” by Smith Elliott drink up babty”

  2. 10 outta 10. I agree with the Elliot Smith observation… very peculiar!

  3. I got 100%, but I can guarantee you that the only two scores you will see will be either 100% or 80% depending on whether the Elliot Smith coin-toss goes well. (I ended up listening to sound quality to make my decision).

  4. Yup…my toss of the coin went in the wrong direction. :)

  5. 10 out of 10

I love “Baby Come Back” by Player.

    The 70’s rule!

  6. 8/10

    Lost the coin toss

  7. 8/10… I hate coins.

  8. 80%–darn coin toss.

  9. Yay, 100%!

I had to take this quiz considering how often I complain that “baby” is used far too often in songs. :)

  10. On the wrong side of the coin toss. 8/10 for me.

  11. 100%! I did guess on 9 & 10, but it was an educated guess.

  12. YAY!! i got them all!!
    and i knew them all!
    tooo easy.
    :)
this is my favorite kind of quiz though.

  13. 10/10, no coin toss needed.

Should’ve had “Push It” by Salt n Pepa.

  14. 8/10 - didn’t get the last two.

  15. 10/10 baby!!

  16. D’yer Maker by Led Zeppelin has a great “baby” in it. “I love you, OO Baby I Love You!”
