Sometimes, two letters can make all the difference. Like the sign that says “SWIMMING” versus the sign that says “NO SWIMMING.” Or even UNsweetened chocolate as opposed to the normal sugary stuff.

Other times, two letters might make no difference at all. If you take the last two letters away from “tee,” for example, what’s left (”t”) has the same pronunciation. That works for the last two letters of a few other words as well, like “jay.” However…

What five-letter word
can lose its last FOUR letters,
yet still be pronounced the same
?

  3. YES!!! I feel so accomplished when I get these!!!

  4. That was too easy.

  5. “Aitch” and H also work.

  6. Maybe it’s because I’m a computer scientist, but this one came to me right away.

  7. :) I went through the alphabet too.

“Aitch” doesn’t work because it says minus the “last” four letters.

  8. ha ha! Finally got one! I went through the alphabet too :)
