At a wedding earlier this year, I was telling someone about where I worked. “Oh, you guys are the ones who do those coin quizzes,” she said.

“Well, actually, we do a lot more than…”

“Let me introduce you to my boyfriend. Honey, this is Jason. His company does all sorts of coin quizzes.”

(There are certainly worse things we could be known for. And it’s no wonder she knew of The Quarter Backs Quiz, since it’s been taken nearly 1.1 million times. That’s roughly 1.0 million more times than any other mental_floss quiz.)

Anyhow, show your state pride with these three quizzes. Click on each banner to take that challenge. If you have a suggestion for another state ________ quiz, leave it for us in the comments.

Jason English is currently taking advantage of the generous paternity leave offered by Mental Floss LLC. We’re celebrating the birth of his first child by giving the regular quizmasters some time off and revisiting our greatest hits.

  1. I first thought of the standards: State Flower, State Bird, State Mottos, State Songs… but the state legistlatures are always coming up with odd state items — what about state foods?

  2. How about famous crimes by State?

Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Oklahoma bombing, Lizzie Borden, etc.

    reCaptcha: blackmailing hated

  3. Did I miss something? New baby: When? What? (guess I’ll skip “How?”) Name?

  4. I found this under one of the other posts:

    Congrats!
