In The Dark Knight, Michael Caine plays Alfred, Bruce Wayne’s faithful butler. But Batman isn’t the only superhero Caine has crossed paths with. In The Cider House Rules, he was a surrogate father to none other than Tobey Maguire, the future Spider-Man. And way back in 1980, Caine was in the movie Death Trap with the late Christopher Reeve. They played gay lovers, and shared a passionate onscreen kiss.
So to summarize: he’s Batman’s butler, Spider-Man’s mentor, and Superman’s boyfriend. Caine himself has never played a character with super powers. But through the magic of editing, here’s what that might look like (mashup by my good pal Matt Belinkie – thanks Matt!):
Hahaha. Very well done.

Caine also played the role of Chris Reeves’s director in the movie version of Noises Off, which was a play about a play turned into a movie about a play. also in that flick: Carol Burnett, John Ritter, Nicolette Sheridan, Marilou Henner, Julie Hagerty, and Denholm Elliot to name a few. fantabulous ensemble cast there really.

Michael Caine also played Nicole Kidman’s father in the film adaptation of Bewitched and was a Warlock. He had several powers including being able to materialize and dissapear at will. I think that qualifies as a power. Not a super power in the traditional sense, but a power none the less.
Sorry if this is a duplicate post.

I just loved that mash-up. Michael Caine is one of my favorites.

Give me the Jon Favreau trifecta of powerless characters in a super hero movie. In Batman Forever he played an assistant. Then he played Matt Murdock’s law partner Froggy Nelson in Daredevil. And then this summer he played Happy Hogan while directing Iron Man.
Caine played Reeve’s writing ‘friend’ which was a movie about a play that was a play called “Deathtrap”.
“Noises Off” had John Ritter
