		<description>I&#039;ve adored that essay ever since I first read it.  I liked it better than Cryptonomicon, actually. It&#039;s a real masterpiece of essay writing, as good as vintage New Yorker pieces by John McPhee.  I&#039;m glad you recced it!</description>

		<description>Read this a long time ago. It&#039;s a great article, and I highly recommend it.

The only downside it that it was researched a little bit before the big boom in laying fiber/cable. So some of the history and background information is outdated.</description>
