In case you weren’t aware, July is National Hot Dog Month. (And no, we’re not sure when International Hot Dog Month is, but we’ll keep you posted.) We’re not one to miss such an opportunity, so today’s quiz is comprised of ten questions concerning hot dogs as both a food item and a pop culture reference.
Take the quiz. You know you want to. And if you don’t, you’re a wiener.
When you’re done, learn much more about the history of frankfurters at Hot Dog City.
Normally I only post about high scores - but I think 10% is actually something to celebrate. Imagine if I hadn’t known Kosher Beef comes from the front of the cow. That would have been a record!

How funny. I only got 10% as well, but only because I used to play Burgertime. I didn’t know about Kosher beef.

The question about McDonald’s starting as a hot dog stand got me thinking. Why do all of the major fast food places (McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s, etc.) serve hamburgers but not hot dogs? Whenever I go to a family picnic, or an outdoor party in the summer, people are always serving hot dogs and hamburgers. They just seem to go together. Except in the major fast food places.
There are some local hot dog stands where I live, but I’m talking about the major chains. Considering they are always looking for new ways to expand their menu, I’m surprised they haven’t taken this obvious route.

Dennis the Menace dog’s name was Ruff. Archie had a dog named hot dog.

Right, Tom. Our question asked about a comic strip cat, not a dog.

And was Hot Dog Archie’s dog or Jughead’s dog? I always presumed the latter.

Hot Dog belonged to Jughead. Archie’s dog’s name was Spotty.
