and I also want to register my unhappiness with the “new” Mental Floss Blogs rss feed format- previously the whole article opened up into my feed reader; now only the first what, 5 or 6 lines? I find myself reading far fewer of the articles because I use a feed reader to begin with because I don’t have a lot of time to open up a ton of websites every day. So now, I just don’t read the articles at all. Which is sad, since I did enjoy them. Just thought I’d say. And didn’t know where so said it here…

My name-sister beat me to the punch! I was also thinking that it was similar to the captive bolt pistol (that’s the actual name for it. they use it to stun cattle before slaughter.) used in “No Country for Old Men”.

Seems similar to the weapon from “No Country for Old Men” (or was it “There Will Be Blood”? I can’t remember). It works well, especially because it didn’t leave any bullets to trace.

I saw this knife in a U.K. news article a week or so ago. Britain has ridiculous knife crime right now, so they put out an article about this knife, because they’re afraid that the thugs will start carrying them. I thought it was brilliant that they showed what it looks like, how it works, where you can get it, and how much it costs, but do not take into consideration that they MIGHT be giving the baddies any ideas. Brilliant.

Uhhh…I don’t get it. Unlike a watermelon on a table, a bear, shark, or human is not going to stand around waiting for you to inject the compressed gas.

Did you see this guy? He stabs the watermelon, then has to wait 3 seconds to get the gas explosion.

Wildcats…they might hang out. I don’t know. I’m a city boy.
