It’s the midst of summer, so if you haven’t taken a fun dip in a pool yet this year, it’s time to do so. And if you have your own pool, it’s time to invite me over. I like barbecue.
On to today’s Brain Game!
When written in all-capital letters,
what five-letter word reads the same
when it’s seen upside-down
(turned 180 degrees around)?
HERE’S our answer. If you can think of any others, please comment with them!
SWIMS ?
as in “he swims with such elegance”

You got our answer, Andre - nice job! I’m not sure if there are any others…

Personally, I was thinking that your challenge was skewed against the skewer … so I propose “SHISH”
Also, SWIMS is both upside-down and backwards, while “SHISH” is merely upside-down.

But you’re TURNING the word upside down, an action that you did not specify in the poser.
When you just flip SWIMS upside down, it becomes SMIWS.
That’s why I got HIKED. I’m sure there are others, when you think about just flipping the letters.

As for SHISH, you have the problem of the reversed Ss.
Got another one that’s good on the flip: HEEDED. But that’s six letters.

NOON works perfectly if you are doing a 180 degree flip.
And apparently I just purchased coke with my reCAPTCHA

CHOICE. It’s 6 letters, but works upside down (I think!).

What about “NOON”?

DECODE works, too.

In response to some of you, you guys are thinking of flipping each letter upside down, not the whole word 180 degrees.

Linda, maybe they are rotating on a different axis (z-axis).
emphasis on ‘maybe’
