If your little brats aren’t showing any interest in the Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon action figures you’ve buried them under, maybe you’ve been looking to the wrong television station for playtime solutions. Enter the new Rocket USA Mario Batali Tin Wind-up toy. By simply winding up the Food Network’s star, then switching him “on”, you can watch Mario shake up some sauce while he flips a pan-full of pasta in his trademark orange clogs.
Amazingly, the real life Mario isn’t just a cook, though. The chef and restauraneur graduated from Rutgers with a double major in economics and theater, all while working in a pizza shop. (Before fine-tuning his skills at Le Cordon Bleu). As for how much the action figure actually looks like Molto Mario, you can decide. No news on when the Rachael Ray and the Iron Chef crew will get their own line of toys (complete with karate chop action, no doubt), but I can’t see why they’d be far behind.
