One of the most famous outlaw crimes was in 1894 when the famous Dalton gang, headed by young Bill Dalton, robbed the First National Bank of Longview. It ended in a bloody gunfight which resulted in the ultimate capture of the outlaw band.

I grew up in Oklahoma, but went to summer camp in Texas. I was always jealous of the anti-litter campaign there (Don’t mess with Texas!), as Oklahoma’s was quite lame (Don’t Lay that Trash on Oklahoma…)

I really must say this although it has nothing to do with the actual article.

The phrase “Don’t Mess With Texas” isn’t a tribute to our arrogance as Texans, it’s actually our anti-littering campaign.
You know, don’t mess with Texas, don’t mess up our roads.
